Was Jesus Correct or Nah?

      Now is an opportune moment to be completely honest and straightforward. Artists are commonly not recognized and appreciated in their hometown, city, or even country. This statement is similar to what Jesus once said to the people of Nazareth and applies to any upcoming leader. When people are too familiar with something, they tend to disregard it. Regardless of their background, artists are often not given the recognition they deserve because they're seen as just another individual among the masses. It is well-known that familiarity can lead to contempt, and similarity can cause envy. However, rarity tends to earn admiration. Jesus once said, "A prophet is not without honor, save his own country, and among his kin, and in his own house" (Mark 6:4). Did Jesus speak from personal experience when he made this statement? Is showing respect and honor to those moving up the social ladder or leadership roles laborious? Let's take the time to appreciate our brothers while we still can. Jesus was right, and it can be challenging to express love and gratitude if we don't acknowledge our talents.

     When it comes to envy, we desire a certain status. We aspire to be equal or even superior to those we see as more successful than us, whether socially, materially, professionally, or in other areas. Envy encourages a competitive mindset. It not only drives us to want what others have but also causes us to reject what we currently possess, leading to trivial rivalries. In doing so, we lose our sense of self, individuality, and authenticity. It's important to avoid feelings of contempt and envy as they can be harmful. Although they may exist within us, they ultimately cause internal damage. These emotions won't make you feel good or help you achieve your goals. You expose your insecurities and anxieties when you give in to envy and contempt. It's well-known that creatives have a unique way of looking at the world. Even more significant is that we possess untapped creative energy that, when harnessed, forges a connection between the artist and the audience. By having the bravery to express your creative identity with enthusiasm and confidence, you unleash your genuine potential, rendering Jesus' statement a matter of circumstance rather than a universal truth.

     All artists are highly imaginative and perceptive, seeing beauty beyond the surface level and connecting with their surroundings on a deep, emotional level. Theodore Dreiser once said, "Art is the stored honey of the human soul." Since ancient times, honey has symbolized love, affection, happiness, and royalty. Through their creations, artists share the love, joy, and affection they poured into their work. Even if they created their masterpiece under less than joyful emotions, the result still brings pleasure to those who experience it. The artist is delighted with their creation and will only reveal it to the world once satisfied. This is when the world can experience the creative joy, peace, happiness, and love poured into the masterpiece from the artist's soul and transferred to the viewer. Art is all about conveying pure emotion from the artist's soul. Regardless of how you express yourself, it's your soul that must acknowledge the creativity within you. Take pride in someone from your community who has achieved great things. Use the gifts as inspiration, and revel in momentarily being free from worries as you create your masterpiece with colors, shapes, sounds, and words. We are all drawn to art because we are all artists at heart.
